{"id":1245,"date":"2015-08-13T01:33:43","date_gmt":"2015-08-13T01:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosdelpodio.com\/autos\/2015\/08\/13\/la-era-dodge-parte-i\/"},"modified":"2015-08-13T01:33:43","modified_gmt":"2015-08-13T01:33:43","slug":"la-era-dodge-parte-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosdelpodio.com\/autos\/la-era-dodge-parte-i\/","title":{"rendered":"La era Dodge &#8211; Parte I"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuando Chrysler Fevre Argentina tom\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n de remplazar la exitosa l\u00ednea Valiant, que hab\u00eda iniciado su participaci\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds dentro del segmento de autom\u00f3viles de pasajeros, lo hizo de una manera arriesgada y poco com\u00fan. En un hecho in\u00e9dito para nuestra industria, una empresa internacional desarroll\u00f3 una versi\u00f3n de caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas para el mercado argentino, que posteriormente tambi\u00e9n se fabricar\u00eda en Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El punto de partida fue el modelo Dart, presentado en Estados Unidos en 1967, el cual recibi\u00f3 una carrocer\u00eda totalmente nueva, de poco m\u00e1s de cinco metros de longitud y algunos toques de dise\u00f1o europeizantes como su frontal con exclusivos faros rectangulares e innovadoras soluciones como los cristales laterales curvos. En agosto de 1968 fueran embarcadas hacia Estados Unidos las primeras unidades de prueba, montadas en la planta de San Justo, para ser sometidas a severos ensayos por parte de Chrysler Corporation. Aprobados los tests, el nuevo modelo fue lanzado comercialmente en noviembre de 1968 bajo la denominaci\u00f3n Dodge. De esta manera, se unificaba la nomenclatura de todos los productos de la penta estrella bajo esa marca. \u201cEl comienzo de una nueva era\u201d, como rezaba la campa\u00f1a publicitaria, estaba integrada por cuatro nuevos modelos que heredaban las designaciones de la l\u00ednea remplazada y sumaban una nueva: Coronado, GT, Polara y Valiant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las cuatro versiones compart\u00edan la misma carrocer\u00eda de tipo sed\u00e1n de cuatro puertas, pero se diferenciaban por su nivel de equipamiento y motorizaciones. El modelo base era el Valiant, que manten\u00eda el motor de 3688 cc y 137 hp, rebautizado como Slant Power. Ofrec\u00eda un sencillo interior con dos asientos enterizos donde se distribu\u00edan c\u00f3modamente seis pasajeros. Los frenos eran a tambor en las cuatro ruedas. En el otro extremo, se presentaba el GT, versi\u00f3n deportiva que heredaba de su antecesor Valiant el mismo propulsor con carburador de doble boca y 155 hp (motor A-119), pero incorporaba algunos detalles deportivos como la caja de Daytona Barracuda de cuatro marchas totalmente sincronizada con palanca al piso sistema Hurst. El interior se destacaba por sus butacas individuales con cinturones de seguridad. Los frenos delanteros eran a disco, de potencia, y calzaba neum\u00e1ticos anchos Speedway Gransport, sin c\u00e1mara para alta velocidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El Coronado segu\u00eda siendo la versi\u00f3n de lujo. Sal\u00eda de f\u00e1brica con techo vin\u00edlico, tapizado en cuero y detalles ornamentales de madera en el tablero y paneles de puertas. En una posici\u00f3n intermedia entre el Valiant y el Coronado, se ubicaba el Polara. Los motores del Polara y Coronado eran iguales, ten\u00edan la misma relaci\u00f3n de compresi\u00f3n que el del GT (8,4:1), pero al tener carburador Carter de una sola boca la potencia disminu\u00eda a 145 hp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los medios de prensa agrupados en APICA, reaccionaron r\u00e1pidamente y, a pocas semanas de su presentaci\u00f3n, otorgaron al nuevo Dodge el t\u00edtulo de auto del a\u00f1o 1968.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #666666;
